Pandemic waves are recurring and vaccine distribution is only gradual: many countries, therefore, have to continue to manage the pandemic through Public Health and Social Measures (PHSM), and to continue to implement them throughout their vaccination campaigns: PHSM include individual, environmental surveillance and response, and social/physical distancing measures, along with movement and travel restrictions.

The webinar will update the debate on PHSM, with a focus on risk perception, accessibility of protective actions and consequent adherence to PHSM in the North Africa and Middle East region.

As the pandemic continues to evolve and universal access to vaccines remains a distant goal, social and public health measures (MSSP) remain essential to limit transmission: they include individual, environmental, surveillance and also social and physical distancing, as well as restrictions on movement and travel.
The webinar will try to update the debate on MSSPs, while emphasizing their use, acceptability and effectiveness in the Sahel and Maghreb countries.

This webinar is conceived as a virtual Round Table with representatives from University of Montenegro, EUROPOL, DG ECHO and BSI.
