MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND POPULATION

The ministry of health in Egypt was established on January 1936 with the vision of providing healthy and productive life for the population. It has a mission of increasing the quality of life of Egyptians by reducing morbidity, mortality and disabilities. This is done through providing, managing and developing a comprehensive package of health services. The ministry is concerned with preventive and curative medical services which includes but not limited to the services of primary health care, central public health laboratories (CPHL), registries, pharmaceutical and new medication licensing, implementation of quality management and family planning. The ministry is providing training of public health officers through Field epidemiology training programs (FETP) and is continuously conducting medical research to improve the type and quality of medical services provided to the population.
